Domain Interest
First and foremost, I feel grateful as a graduate student to join the Helping Hands Lab at Northeastern University and have Dr. Robert Platt as my supervisor, working with a group of talented PhD students in his lab.
Out of curiosity, I wish to build a 6-axis end-to-end robot arm, which includes mechanics, electrics, (Hm….however….due to resource limitations, I will explain this fun project based on what I know, please DO correct me if I do not explain well, criticisms accepted. :)
AR4-MK3 | 600 mm reach | 2 kilograms of payload capacity | RC servo-driven arms | 3D print parts |

Side Interest
Actually, since I was a high school student, I have found that math and physics can kinda intuitively disclose the ultimate truth and nature of this universe (behind the complexity of reality, it allows us to discover hidden regularities; behind the agitation of objects and trajectories, it displays the Earth’s unchanging gravitation), perhaps this is the reason why until today, I still believe these are the things that bring meaning to my life, personally.
The Land of Mathématiques
Alright, sounds boring and probably all you can think of is a bunch of exotic numbers, weird notations and puzzles…However, from my point of view, math can be easily understood and it is just in our daily life(If you take a close look at it). Before we actually take a whirlwind tour and see the magnificent landscape here, I want to ask you some questions.(NO WORRIES, we are not going to do the math!) One of My Favourite Fundamental Equations
One of my favourite fundamental equations in physics is E = mc², it basically says the exchange rate between energy and mass.

The Beauty of Cosmology
It was not until I accidentally came across Dr. Max Tegmark while whimsically surfing the internet on concepts like singularity, Big Bang, dark matter, cosmic microwave background, etc., that I realized there is still so much left for humans to explore in this vast universe. For example, going back to the very beginning of everything that describes how the universe evolved.
Interesting Questions in Cosmology
-
Do you know the distant galaxies are actually moving away from us, and the farthest galaxies are moving away faster than the closer ones? Logically, does this mean all the galaxies started from one tiny central point?
(Edwin Hubble, 1929)

Can we calculate the age of the universe via the 1% static on your untuned TV? If we put together what we know about how fast it expands today and how fast this stuff falls apart, what actually exists in the universe, and Einstein's Equations of General Relativity, can we rewind the history of our universe backwards?

Reading a piece of news in Scientific American (SCIAM) or browsing the Nature website in the morning will always refresh my mind. I got to know the latest news in robotics, space, genetics, neuroscience, epidemiology, etc. It is a great way to warm up a new day.
It has been six months since hiking became one of my favorite sports activities. Joining a hiking group and casually chatting with friends, enjoying the oxygen in the forest brings me joy, peace, and calm.
